Course Objective:This class picks up where the Residential and Commercial Electrical inspector classes left off. Electrical Plan Analysis can be tricky– Students will learn how to interpret electrical plans for proper code compliance.

Method of Evaluation:A series of pre and post progress test and reviews are used. The student will also be provided a series of worksheets that will help demonstrate how related tables and code sections interact. Instructor lectures will help the student understand proper code interpretation and avoid common mistakes in the field.

Suggested Pre-Requisite: ICC Commercial Electrical

  • Basic electrical installations
  • Ohms Laws review

Day 2 

  • Progress quiz & review
  • Basis Plan Reading
  • Transformers Calculations
  • Grounding vs bonding
  • Special occupancies
  • Commercial Load Calculations

Day 3

  • Progress quiz & review
  • Actually performing an electrical plan review
  • Discussing shortcuts and important items to look for when doing a plan review
  • Progress quiz & review

    NOTE: Students are encourage to bring a set commercial plans to class.
